2 Quick and Easy Hedgehog Art Projects – Autumn / Fall Art for Kids
2 Quick and Easy Hedgehog Art Projects for Kids.
Oodles (almost 3yo) and I had alot of fun with these two little paint projects this morning.Since we made our hedgehog collages last week she has been eager to do some more hedgehog activities and these are what we came up with.
1. Sponge Painting Hedgehogs
What we used:
- paint
- pot scrub sponges (with rough side and sponge side)
- paper
- paint brushes
- Using the sponges we painted a mound shape
- To make the spikes we used the rough side of the sponge and dragged it up through the paint
- We added a face and snout with our brushes as well as little feet
- Using the edge of the sponges we added grass and autumn leaves to the ground.
2. Cotton Wool Hedgehogs
What we used:
- cotton wool balls
- PVA non toxic glue
- poster paints
- paint brushes
- paper
- sponges
- Using the PVA glue we painted a moundlike body shape or semi-circle.
- We pulled the cotton balls apart and then stuck them onto the glue
- When we were happy with our body shape we dabbed paint (brown and black) onto the cotton wool .
- Next we painted a small head and snout, adding eyes.
- Using our sponges from the above project we added grass and autumn leaves to the ground.
Every Wednesday we invite you to share your own family friendly posts, ideas and tips on our Facebook page. One of my favourites from this week’s Share Day was this gorgeous project from My Little 3 and Me – we will be trying these very cute Clay Autumn Hedgehogs. Have fun!
