Free Printable Summer Binder Covers & Spines
A beautiful place to gather all the little things that make summer feel like summer.
There is something lovely about gathering the pieces of a season together โ the recipes we want to try, the places we hope to visit, the books we want to read, the memories we want to keep and all those little lists, plans and ideas that might otherwise end up scattered around the house.
Our Summer Companion Binder Covers & Spines were created to give all of those things a beautiful home.
This free printable set includes a coordinating front cover, back cover and three binder spine sizes, designed especially for organising your favourite summer printables in one place. Print them at home, slip them into a clear-cover ring binder and gradually build a Summer Companion that is completely your own.
The design brings together the fresh, bright colours of summer at Our Little House in the Country โ soft blues and whites, blue hydrangeas, daisies, lemons, blue-and-white pottery and glimpses of long, light-filled summer days.
Use it with the free printables already in our Summer Collection, add your own recipes, photographs, notes and keepsakes, or simply let it become somewhere to gather the things you would like to remember from this particular summer.

How to Use Your Summer Companion Binder
You don’t need to create the entire binder in one sitting. In fact, I think these are loveliest when they grow gradually throughout the season.
Print the front and back covers on good-quality paper or light cardstock and slip them inside the transparent covers of an A4 ring binder.
Print the spine sheet, choose the width that matches your binder, carefully cut along the dotted lines and slide it into the binder spine.
Then start filling it.
You might include:
- summer plans and intentions
- bucket lists
- favourite recipes
- meal ideas
- reading lists and book notes
- garden plans and observations
- nature finds
- family traditions
- day-trip ideas
- photographs
- journaling pages
- holiday memories
- children’s drawings or little keepsakes
- favourite moments from the season
There is no right way to create a Summer Companion. Make it practical, make it sentimental, make it beautifully organised โ or let it become a slightly untidy mixture of all three.
That’s usually where the best memories live anyway.

A Binder to Bring Out Summer After Summer
One of my favourite things about keeping seasonal binders is that they don’t necessarily have to be finished when the season ends.
Bring your Summer Companion out again next year.
Add new recipes beside old favourites. Notice which traditions have stayed. Add another photograph. Make a new list. Look back at what everyone was reading, eating, growing and enjoying a year earlier.
Over time, something that began as a practical way of organising printables can quietly become a record of ordinary family summers.
And those ordinary little details are often the ones we are most grateful to have kept.

Printing Tips
The covers and spine sheet have been designed for A4 printing.
For the best results:
- Print the covers at 100% / Actual Size where possible.
- Use good-quality white or warm-white paper for a softer finish.
- Light cardstock works beautifully for the covers if your binder doesn’t have transparent pockets.
- Check your binder spine before cutting and choose the 25 mm, 38 mm or 50 mm version that fits most closely.
- Printer settings vary slightly, so a small amount of trimming may occasionally be needed.
