Friday, 5th December 2025

🌿 Warm Welcome

Hi there, happy Friday — and welcome back to Our Little Friday Letter. It’s so lovely to have you here again.

Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen circumstances, today’s newsletter is going to be a little shorter than usual. But I didn’t want the week to go by without popping into your inbox to say hello and share a few gentle seasonal thoughts with you.

Thank you, as always, for being here. ✨

Theme of the Week: The Heart of Christmas

As we move properly into December, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’m calling “The Heart of Christmas” — that quiet centre of the season that often gets covered up by layers of noise, busyness, pressure, and expectation.

This week, despite the lovely chaos of markets, restocking, and getting the attic back in order, I found myself coming back again and again to one simple truth:

Christmas feels its richest when we strip it right back to what matters.

Not the perfect house.
Not the perfect tree.
Not the perfect gifts, plans, schedules or photos.
But the heart of it all — the connection, the memories, the tiny moments that settle into us and stay.

I think, deep down, that’s what so many of us crave at this time of year.
Not more things on the calendar… but more space.
Not more things to buy… but more meaning.
Not more noise… but a little more quiet.

And when we slow down enough to notice it, the heart of Christmas becomes beautifully simple:

✨ A candle lit on a cold evening
✨ A cup of hot chocolate shared with someone you love
✨ A walk under the lights
✨ A conversation that makes you laugh
✨ A tradition repeated because it feels like home
✨ A moment of calm before the house wakes

It doesn’t have to be big or elaborate.
In fact, it’s nearly always the small, ordinary moments that carry the most magic.

This year, after the madness of the attic and the busyness of the past few weeks, that’s the kind of Christmas I’m leaning into — the kind that feels warm and human and grounded. The kind that makes time for connection instead of clutter. The kind that holds space for memories instead of rushing past them.

And maybe that’s something we can all gift ourselves this December:
the permission to step back from the pressure and return to the heart of the season.

A slower evening.
One less obligation.
One simple ritual that matters.
One moment of actual presence instead of “getting through the list.”

That’s Christmas at heart.
And it’s more than enough.

🎙️ On the Podcast

If you’re following the podcast, Episode 5 of Seasonal Notes lands this Sunday morning at 7 a.m.

This week’s episode is all about traditions — how they evolve, how they grow with us, and how we’re allowed to adapt or change them in ways that feel right for our families and for the season we’re in.
Traditions are living things; they move as we move.
