Star Wars Junior ReadyBed® Review

Over the Easter Holidays we were delighted to review the new Star Wars Junior ReadyBed! We had recently used one of these while visiting friends in the UK and had thought that it was such a great idea – a blow up mattress and sleeping bag in one!.

What did we think?

We loved it! Ready Beds are perfect for sleepovers or for using when visiting friends and family and even for playing camping as my two have been doing!

As a parent I loved the super simple concept of this sleeping solution.  It is superlight weight and easy to store.  As it has its own pump it is very convenient and no need to cart around your electric pump or large foot pump.  However, the pump is a little delicate and I could see the tubing becoming worn over time but the kids loved using it to pump up the bed.  I actually used our own electric pump to reinflate it at another time (a lot faster but probably not as much fun for little ones) to give it a really good once over with two children trying to jump on it!!! I love that the cover/sleeping bag is fully removable and machine washable.  The ReadyBed is comfy and just the right size for younger kids.  My two were comfy and snug in it at 3 and 5 years of age – it was the perfect size for each of them.  ReadyBed is available in a variety of sizes, in my opinion the Junior ReadyBed is perfect for 3 to 7 year olds, any older and you would probably need a larger size.  The sleeping bag is quite light but fine for sleepovers.  I also loved how in deflated super quickly – there is nothing worse than trying to squish the air out of an inflatable device when trying to pack up!

The children loved it too.  My little boy (almost 6) is a Star Wars fan and thought the Star Wars design on the sleeping bag was awesome – he told me that is was absolutely perfect and looked like an “original and exclusive” design (he loves to watch product reviews on You Tube and seems to be picking up the lingo lol!!!)  He loves to investigate how things work and figured out how to set up the bed in no time and had it fully inflated and ready for use!  He has had it positioned beside his own bed all week and snuggles up it each night to read his books at bedtime.  I have also found our ReadyBed in the playroom inside a “tent” being used for a “camping trip”.  And the final test – is it comfy enough to sleep in…Yes!  All week they have been begging me to sleep in it but as we were just back to school after the holidays I wanted to keep to our usual routine.  But last night (Saturday) the Star Wars ReadyBed got a proper trial run and a great sleep was had by all!

Would we recommend the ReadyBed?  Yes, we loved it!  My only reservation/concern is that the foot pump may not be very durable but as I mentioned the ReadyBed is fully compatible with our own pump.  But aside from that we thought it was a really fantastic sleep option for sleepovers in every way!

A resounding thumps up from Our Little House in the Country!
