Sunflower Handprint Art 2 – Autumn/Fall Art Activities for Kids
Sunflowers are such a cheerful flower and what better way to celebrate the ending of summer and coming of autumn with a handprint art sunflower, a perfect craft for preschoolers We love sunflowers and last week we had a lot of fun making a giant sunflower with our handprints. Today we decided to use our favourite flowers as inspiration again for a craft activity. Foam Dough – Squishy Squashy Sensory Fun!
Shaving foam is a fantastic material to use in a variety of ways in sensory play. My little girl Oodles loves to sit in her mini paddling pool in her swim suit play with the foam and toys. We have created gorgeous paint foam prints and of course there is foam dough. What we used: 1 cup of cornflour/cornstarch 2 cups of shaving foam paint What we did: Doodles and Oodles measured out the cornflour and added it to their bowls D poured the shaving foam into each bowl – O couldn’t quite manage to press the nozzle They chose their colour of choice and squeezed it into…

Alphabet Book – Hunting for Letters, Cutting Skills, Learning Our ABCs
Hi all, this is a short and sweet post this morning about an activity we have been working on. Doodles and I have been having lots of fun working on letters and phonics recently (just the basics). Oodles has been joining in too, but the activities were aimed at D (almost 5 y.o). Today, after doing an “a” sound hunt around the house, listing as many “a” words that he could identify, we decided to do a letter hunt in our magazines and comics. On Friday it rained!!!!! Shock, horror :O ! Having been away in sunnier climes for a few weeks and a number of weeks of hot, sunny weather here since our return we had almost forgotten what rain was like!
